N15MNO-Daron Posted August 20, 2007 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Got a grounding kit and voltage stabiliser from States.. and both fitted but damn ugly in the engine bay.. The voltage stabiliser states instant 10hp increase, smoother ride etc etc Grounding kit states that it will make engine noise less and unleash extra power gains etc etc.. In which case it makes me wonder if they are worth the cost ?? Of have I got it wrong? It would be interesting to hear just what the actual bhp gain is before installation and then after a period of time, to see whethlater the makers' claims are relaistic and outlay is worth it. Generally you're right, mate. If anyone is looking for power gains they will actually feel FI seems the only sensible way to go. Only way to know for sure is to dyno the car before the mod is done and then immediately afterwards on the same dyno, keeping conditions as close to the original run as possible. Chris`I Posted August 20, 2007 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Problem with doing the dyno straight after a mod is it does give gains as the ECU hasnt had time to cancel it out. Does seem a strange notion this self leveling ECU, but it seems a widely accepted thing by all Zed communities. The only thing you can do to get around it is have a remap, which as with all cars is what is needed to unleash the real gains of any mods. However he said in a thread before (here or OC) that someone had made claims about increased HP. Lets face it, any monkey can think of a number and right it down and claim that is a BHP increase.
