Cat shielding?

I need to put my cats back on for the MOT, the problem is that the shielding is knackered/falling apart. Can I get away with removing the shielding for the MOT?

Yes you shouldn't have a problem if the shields are not fitted

Just to support Ewen's comment, I had my local, family run, trusted, garage replace my OEM exhaust. They advised the cat shields were in poor condition and suggested I discarded them. The Zed was then due an MOT a few months later and passed.

 

If I remember correctly, there was a thread about discarding cat shields on this forum some while ago.
