Arran Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Have searched and cant find an answer as to how to remove the top trim off the speedo. Looks like it just clips on but probably isn't that simple Anyone had it off? Cheers 1 Quote
R35LEE Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 You have to remove the lower column cover off them first then the rear silver circles cover (one piece). After this think its the metal clock facia then the two sections come apart. That is from memory though so may be something I have missed Quote
Arran Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Pretty much speedo out then I believe? Theres a guide online somewhere will have to check it out Cheers lee Quote
Vlad Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Yea, take while thing out and take it apart mate If its for the dipping - I will have a spare one soon, so you don't need to worry about removing it until you come to mine to swap bits over Quote
Arran Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Excellent! Ive just read a guide it says, Remove lower trim panel Undo 4 lower column screws Pull cover off Undo the screws that hold the speedo on and pull up the speedo Disconnect cable remove speedo 10 mins apparently Quote
Arran Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Good good, they are easy cars to take apart especially compared to bmws Quote
Fluke Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 There are 4x 10mm bolts that hold the speedo on and to get to them you need to pull the lower part of the dash (the part that contains the fuel lid release button etc.. It's just held on by a clip each sided). Then take the lower steering shroud off that is held on by 4 Philips screws. You need a fairly long screw drive to get the the back shroud screws, the binnacle has one electrical connector plug on it. It really is a 10 min job to take out, I haven't taken the binnacle to pieces so have no idea how easy/hard that is. Quote
Arran Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Looks like just two screws at the back holding the top cover on Quote
buster Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 pretty straight forward once the unit is in front of you... Quote
Arran Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Was surprised how easily it came out actually Quote
