bose subwoofer popping and cutting out... what are my options

Hi,

Saw a audio specialist today and talked about setting up a better audio system in my 350gt. Looking at £800 for 2 x 10" subs with custom built fitting and enclosure, along with a 500w amp and sound proofing, this would take the input from the speaker cables to get aroubd the bose head unit issue. Looking more like £1250 to get a new head unit in there all inclusive

The main reason im thinking of doing this is because the bose amp keeps popping then cutting out! Is there any way to fix this, or cheaper way round upgrading the audio set up in these cars? Since halfords seems out of the picture as they wont touch them

if i were to go down the route of getting replacements, etc. then i figure i may as well upgrade the whole lot to something better than bose!

Was more wondering if this was a common problem that had any quick simple fix to it

If it's the sub amp there is a quick fix on YouTube . . I ripped my sub and it's small amp out and fit a new head unit and sub+amp and still using the bosa main amp and 4 speakers and it sounds mint. It's a easy job to do your self

looked at a few videos on YT and that seems fairly simple!

Will bang the subwoofer when it next cuts out to see if it seems like the sort of issue they relate to in the fix, and if a good hit fixes it will get taking it apart and hopefully get it sorted!

Have only had this 350 for 3 weeks and 2 ****ing electrical problems.... first the window motor reset switch and now this damn sub!

Thanks for your help!

.... this is the first car ive had that has this much "joy".... £350 service & fix up the other day.... with other issues with banana arm bushings and brake pads identified and still to do!

Just thought I'd post though for anyone with similar problems that i did the process in the YT video and it has indeed fixed the subwoofer issue.... and it only takes about 10 minutes with the right tools! Simple but effective!
