How to remove centre armrest lid?

I want to take the centre armrest lid off to refurb it, havent had a chance to look yet but just wondered if anyone can tell me if it is possible to remove it without removing the whole centre console?

Mind you, the lower centre console is ashtray out, undo screw, pop off gear surround, undo two screws, put bith seat forward, undo one screw each side at rear of console and off it comes.

Yeah I have read about how to take the lower centre console out, doesnt seem too bad although i'm not sure how the ashtray comes out? But I was hoping I don't need to remove that just to remove the lid of the compartment at the back?

Ashtray out: open ashtray, hold by lid, lift, done

Yep removing the console is easy to do, 5 minute job the lid is held in by a few screws one that's off.
