Chesterfield Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 First you need to create the avatar file. 100 x 100 pixels maximum, and less than 6kb in size. (this keeps the forum tidy and fast) once you have created the file, put it in your gallery. Once the file is in your gallery, you copy the link to it eg. "http://www.350z-uk.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10004/avatar.JPG" and then select this as your avatar in your profile. Any problems let me know.... Edit: scrap the above - Ive enabled avatar uploading. Just make a suitably small file (100 x 100 pixels and 6kb max size) Go to your profile and uploa your own avatar, much easier now! Quote

WoREoD Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I'm having real problems getting my desired picture down to 6k. I'm editing it in Photoshop, got it down to 100 pixels, resolution is 72dpi, but it comes out at 12k. If I try saving it at a lower quality the pic goes all hazy. Any tips out there? TIA, JohnK Quote
WoREoD Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Cracked it. Saved it as .gif file instead of a .jpg and the size came down! Cheers all! JohnK Quote
