Lower compression (banana) arm install- DIY job?

I have a lower compression arm that I need fitted to my Z. I was wondering if this is a DIY job with non-specialist type tools?

I'm thinking not- as I'm a assuming I will need some kind of a hydraulic press to remove the ball joint but just want clarification. What do you guys think?

If you've got a new arm, its a straight swap, apparently you cant remove the ball joint anyway and assuming the bushing is ok on the new arm, you wouldnt need a press - I just replaced the bushings on mine, both sides. The biggest difficulty I had was with one of the nuts which i had to grind/chisel off. A local workshop pressed the old bushes out and the new ones in for £10.

Good luck

I should have specified, I have a replacement arm. So it's a straight swap. It's brand new so the bushes should be 100%.

This should be pretty straightforward so?

I must be getting confused, I thought the ball joint needed to be pressed out but it's in fact the bushes I'm thinking of so that shouldn't be an issue.

The new arm comes with everything you need in it, and you don't need to save anything from the old arm.

Im sure Alex will pop in here shortly, but its not an easy job without a pit & rattle gun I don't think. Im probably going to head to Kaizer again for the work, along with some more bits and bobs.

Cheers CS, well actually Alex supplied the arm to me so maybe I just should have asked him  hopefully he will be on or someone who has tried it might be able to give me a few pointers.

Why do you travel so far to get stuff done?

Team AFM is literally on your doorstep, rtbiscuit goes there all the time.
