"Mask" Car Stereo and ICE Security

Years back Mask systems were all the rage. I haven't been into car ICE for a while but now my 350z has a cheap chinese system in there that I want to replace and I've been looking for replacements but can't find any Mask systems. Even the face-off ones are quite rare (talking about single DIN here).

 

So are Mask systems extinct?

 

I guess I could go with the non-removeable panels - how do people find them in terms of security? Just worried that I'll park in a rough area one day and come back to see the window smashed and someone having run off with the system.

If it helps, some owners including me, have bolted our aftermarket HU to the bulkhead under the centre console plastics rather than to the plastics, also makes it easier to install

As with alot of Jap cars the radios as mentioned above are bolted to the car. It would take alot to pull the radio out, i never bother to remove the fascia on any of my cars these days.
