Gonzo88 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 ... Around Lincolnshire. I would really like to compare my gearbox with someone else's because it shakes quite and bit and doesn't like low gears when cold. I'm wondering if the gearbox oil needs changing? Or due to the changing noise is it the flywheel? Quote
spursmaddave Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Sounds fairly normal to me but certainly wouldn't hurt to change the oil and add some molyslip Quote
Gonzo88 Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 It was my father that questioned it. I thought it was normal as when cold the oil is going to be thicker. Plus there is no slipping in any of the gears. Oh a Lamborghini owner let me overtake him yesterday was beautiful! Don't see many on the Lincolnshire roads! Quote
spursmaddave Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 If it doesn't slip then I wouldn't get concerned, always bad when cold 1st > 2nd. Not guaranteed but I fitted a grounding kit and it smoothed out the vibration at idle Quote
Shaun1982 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Where abouts in lincs are you? There's at least a couple from the Grimsby area I've seen post on here, I'd help you but I've got an auto Quote
Gonzo88 Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 I'm 20 miles south of Lincoln so that would be a good middle ground. Quote
Shaun1982 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Wonder if a lincolnshire meet would have enough cars to be worth sorting then. Lincolns not too far from me. About 30 mins to the first Lincoln roundabout on the a46 for me Quote
ph 7 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I've just been to Worksop and back. I could have popped through. Sorry! Quote
MrsNiki Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I'm in Lincoln, have pm'd you. A lincs meet would be good, seen a few Zeds around, wonder how many are forum members... Quote
AMT Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Unless your having major clutch issues wouldn't worry about it. You get used to it being a bit clunky from cold. Just watch as you go into 2nd, don't catch that gear at the wrong time lol I wondered about this at first too when I picked mine up. And the flywheel makes a clattery noise sometimes if your quick off the clutch (i think thats the flywheel anyway...correct me if im wrong). If it feels ok once you've been driving a while I wouldn't worry. 1 Quote

Gonzo88 Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Guys I've posted something up in the regional meets section so make sure you keep your eyes on there and we will be having a meet in the not so distant future. 1 Quote
