Throttle Body Reset

Hi guys,

Cleaned my throttle bodys last weekend and now have a high idle (1200rpm) with occasional rev hunting. I've tried the throttle body reset using the following ignition and pedal procedure but it doesn't seem to help (confirmed the engine light is flashing when it shoudl etc). I'm told Nissan use an actual machine to reset the throttle mapping but wondered if anyone knows of a Nissan Specialist near birmingham that might have this equipment?

I could try Lichfield but they are quite far away.

Thanks in advance guys.

I can always gpo back to Nissan but £120 seems steeep for a throttle body reset.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply, TB was left connected, but the battery disconnected and then usual spray and clean method used. Sorry to sound like a dumb ass but when you say butterfly is that the mechanism inside the TB? We did manually lift the flap to clean inside, is this not good?

On a side note I've found a different Nissan dealer who will do a TB reset on the computer for £60 which is much more reasonable.

Thanks for your help.

Mat

Bit confused on this one, what would the recommended way be to clean the TB. Would you need to remove it completely to avoid touching the butterfly valve?

I hope we haven't buggered the TB as it's a 2007 model so have two TB's.

I guess a reset by Nissan is a first call and I'll have to hope this resolves it.

Mike - thanks for the link, this is the procedure I followed but doesn't seem to work.
