ddcboyle Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Im guessing their called hydraulic struts, first thing that came into my mind. Anyway, getting after market struts for bonnet, will that raise the bonnet higher so i can actually see under the bonnet without holding it up? Will new struts stop the boot falling on my head, or do you somehow clean them? And whats the counter weight all about? Ive seen where its located, but is it actually heavy and worth taking out? evilscorp Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 300g or so, bit of lead plate and its bracket, worth saving a few quid just to remove it, just be carefull with the boot interior plastic clips. Quote
SteveRS Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Bonnet Struts will lift the bonnet slightly higher than using the OEM prop and it will stay up on its own. Uprated or re-gassed boot struts will stop the boot falling on your head. Quote
