Speedo rev heating not working

Hi, tried searching for the problem before posting but couldn't find the right wording to get any results so feel free to post a link to a problem already solved instead of explaining twice :) but basically my dials for rev speedo fuel etc aren't working, nor is my heating system. Any ideas what it could be? Has been working fine with nothing being touched, just out the blue.

Cheers

Beb & SMD are right, I've just had a look through the 350z manual and the module that he refers to is the "unified meter and Ac Amp", the unified meter is the speedo and tacho binnacle, apparently you need to get the car hooked up to a consult II diagnostic reader for the fault code, it sounds like your module might be faulty, although I think there maybe some fuses involved too. This might help:-

:)

I'm pretty sure the module behind the aircon controls runs both the heating and speedo, I'd be checking that first

+ 1 I believe I would check the connection to it and the ribbon too

Seems more than a bit coincidental, if it were me I'd take the Bose out again and very carefully check all the connectors and make sure the ribbon cables are fully "home" and havent been folded, crushed or damaged. :)

changed cd player few weeks ago then went back to old bose after. was bout a week since i put it back in before faults started

I've removed the unit and rep lugged in connections, vstill no luck. Thinking I might have damaged it whilst removing which I've done about 12 times.

Looking at the PDF files, any idea which one is for fuses?

And if the fuses are still in working order, what's the next step? Order the unit and just reoplug in or am I better spending more and going to specialist?

So I tried the fuse box, found broken one, changed it and all worked fine, for about 100metres. Going to remove centre console completely and check all connections again then put new fuse in and see if that works.

Any reason why it might be blowing fuses other than connection?

Something you have done has caused a short probably. Maybe a nick in a wire or something? Something shorting to earth. Always disconnect the battery when working on it also. There's a chance you could blow the bcm if something else shorts.

Tried it again and fuse keeps blowing. Only thing I can guess is that it's the heating module. That's got a tiny nic in it but didn't think that'd do much.

Any specialists anyone knows that I could take it to who would be able to fix it up?

Do you mean there's a nick in the ribbon cable? That would probably cause a short.
