Mrdeli Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Cleaned the throttle body. The pics show before and after. The pics are of the inner side of the throttle body (car 79k miles). Although there was a bit of gunk, cleaning it has not resulted in any noticeable differences (I guess in fairness I was not experiencing problems anyhow, but just like things clean!). Quote
evest Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I'm surprised you haven't noticed any difference - I had some issues a while ago with the car seeming to struggle on ignition, gave the throttle body a good clean (it was similar to yours) and this seemed to noticeably improve the car start up. Quote
Mrdeli Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 Yes i was hopeful of improvement - but as I say I didnt have a specific problems before I cleaned it, just thought it would do no harm ( I guess secretly I was hoping to release another 50 or 60hp ) Quote
Beau Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I gave my throttle body a clean at about 30,000 miles. It was not as dirty as yours but it did make a difference. I did the throttle reset procedure after I cleaned it and then noticed the difference. I would recommend you do the same, and I'm sure you will notice a change. Have a search round and you will find the procedure. Quote
Mrdeli Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Oh thanks - ill give that a try Thanks mark. Quote
