neo-ninja Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Does anyone know if i will get hit with import duties on the US ebay item? Quote
coldel Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Most likely yes, import duty (which you will have to pay to UPS or whoever is the courier) and also you should get a VAT invoice at some point I believe. You should he has good contacts to the US and will save you the hassle of sorting out any problems that may arise. There are many options though, I got me one of these http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STIZTBE01&c=&r=&b=&m=all Otherwise Sushi's offer of £120 is a good one on a brand new one Quote

neo-ninja Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 so how does import duty work then, as i have been buying items from the states, china etc.. for years on ebay and never once been hit with import fees, but admitably i have only ever bought small things, (games, models, odds and sods) Quote
manphibian Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 It comes to about £120 total after import duty and fees. Quick delivery too Quote
coldel Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Usually the company shipping it will charge you import tax, google import tax calculator to find out what you are meant to pay Quote

Generally its Price of goods plus price of shipping and insurance (x vat) if its over £180 then you get charged duty... duty rate depends on product. if its delivered by USPS (united states parcel service) then you may get a charge for handling when its transferred to Royal mail. usually £10 Quote
PickledSushi Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Parcelforce charged me £23.98 when my pop charger arrived from the US if that helps Quote
