and wondered if anyone else has seen or had this problem.

 

I have this issue and no-one seems to be able to answer the question of what causes it.....

 

I have chcked plugs, OK. swapped out O2 Sensors, clean air filter, oil OK.

Scored bores will do that, leading to increased oil burning on one bank where the oil is passing the rings. Common issue on 996 and early 997 911s, that's where that gem comes from. Any oil usage?

Min amount of oil usage, 1/2ltr over 2000 miles or so. Not masses of oil being used TBH.

So they still had this issue on the 3.6 engines Dan ?

Yup but only in small amounts, pretty much the same as the IMS issues we discussed (so around 5%).

Had this ever since I fitted the nismo exhaust years ago, not true dual but same problem.

 

Never have found the cause, no oil burn no spark pluds isuues etc etc.

 

Car runs well so have given up worrying

No not alone but wtf are spark pulds?

thats where your problem is then, the pluds are incorrect type.
