LOAD RATING AND DIFFERENT TYRES PER AXLE

Hi ladies and gents,

I need new tyres all round. Purchased all 4 brand new last Feb from Kwikfit RE05OA's RZ compound and only lasted a year which i feel is poor for normal standard driving to and from work!!!

Can I purchase tyres with higher Load rating? and also guys can I for example be fine with REO40's on front - Michellins on back?

I had REO40's on originally from manufacture and they lasted good few years (20,000 miles approx), compared to 12 months (10,000 miles approx) RE50A's

Tyre advice greatly appreciated!

Regards, Rich

RE040's are utter crap performance wise compared to RE050's. I would take a flying leap that it's because the RE050's are a softer compound affording you better grip, the trade off being faster wear.

I wouldn't put RE040's on my car if you paid me to do it personally.
