My rear number plate is attached with double sided sticky pads. I am about to remove and re-fix it and although I have the new fixing tape I have a really technical question.... When I've removed all traces of the old tape (probably with petrol or similar) and cleaned the surface, should I polish the paintwork before using the new fixing, or leave it unpolished for better adhesion?
