live2themaxuk Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Hey everyone well, even though i havn't got my Z, im still full of plans for it. hehe The '06+ headlights look great on the Z, same goes for the LED clusters. Well, the latter as we know are easy to add, but how about the headlights. Is it a straight swap, or is it more involving? Id love to whack some 06 headlights onto my 03 when i get it Jamie Quote
Mathys Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Rear lights upgrade: a MUST Front light upgrade: big waste of money Quote
M13KYF Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 seem to remember readind on a US supplier sight that they were plug and go but a expensive option Quote
live2themaxuk Posted October 8, 2006 Author Posted October 8, 2006 Just noticed actually,is this true The 2002-05 have projectors in thier headlights but only for the low-bean xenon The 06 onwards has a BIG projector that moves and thats Bi-Xenon? Jamie Quote
Mathys Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 New 06 headlights are Bi-Xenon yes, the previous one is only a low beam xenon. I still have to see the new headlights in real life, on the pictures they look worse than the 03-05. Quote
stevie_350z Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 The pre-06 xenons are great! Why upgrade? I love 'em! As for the rears... I would also like the rear-LEDs... Quote

I still have to see the new headlights in real life, on the pictures they look worse than the 03-05. I ve got them. The look of them rulez But indeed, replacing them is like 1000€ a piece. Most people replace the rear light ones, coz they are quite cheap. The fronts are way more expensive, and the "old" ones look good too, so i wouldnt bother swapping them. Quote
Leenx Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 What kind of cost are we looking at for a set of the new rear projection lights? Seen some adverts on ebay but how would these compare to the real lights from Nissan? Quote
ir_fuel Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I could be really wrong here, but i thought it was about 150€ / piece Quote
Digsy Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 New front headlights look a bit "stary" IMHO. Quote
ir_fuel Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 You guys sometimes are really "anal" about some parts of the car 2005 version 2006 version Honestly, the difference really isnt that big except for the side-reflector which has been replaced by 4 leds Quote

MadMax Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 First let me say that Im realy glad I found this forum you even got great emoticons I live in Israel and I just imported a 05 Anniverary Edition from the states, now according to the ministry of transportation here, I have to get European spec headlights.... and these 06 Bi Xenons look to be exactly what I need. Does anybody know where I can find the European OEM part # for these? Any help in this will be greatly appreciated btw - this is me Quote
M13KYF Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 If you pm Mr.F he has access to the Nissan parts catalogue He should be able to help you. Quote
Removed Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I don't see what difference there would be from Xenons in a US car and Xenons in a Euro car tbh.... ? (assuming they are both the same xenon type) Quote
MadMax Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 the states use DOT approved, in europe it is E13 or something like that - and its stamped in or on the headlight Quote
Removed Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 yeah was thinking they might need the CE mark or something like that on the light BUT are we sure they aren't equivalent? seems strange to me that Nissan would use 2 different parts and not just homologate the part for both countries? Quote
MadMax Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 haha speaking of which ... and probably should be in a thread of its own - but my trip computer is in miles & farenheit. Ill plant a tree in the forests of Jerusalem for the guy or gal who can tell me how to switch the readouts to Celsius & KPH. Quote
