Starting engine speed

I bought my new Zed in August and have been very happy with it but I do have one question regarding what the engine should rev to from a cold start. Mine seems to run to about 1800 rpm and I think I hear a little rattle - at least I feel I ought to. It very quickly dies down as the engine warms up though. Is this normal??

Is it? when i first start the car the rev's jump to about 2000 rpm with a very loud vroom but then go down to about 1300 - 1500 rpm and there is no rattle.

Any rattling is normally just the clutch (worse if you've got a lighter flywheel) or the exhaust. Mine sometimes sounds a bit like a bag of spanners idling, but has done since new.

mine rattles on startup, only sometimes, and only for a second. Not sure if its when I take my foot off the clutch, or if it does it anyway...

Mine has always done this, although recently I have developed an additional rattle as one of my CATs is in more than 1peice
