Looking to (finally) make the move

Recommended Posts

Through not wanting to hijack the other welcome thread I've returned to my own

Hit a slight snag, the car is currently on a cherished plate; the person I'm buying from has already been to the DVLA to get the current plate put on retention, just waiting the arrival of the new V5, MOT and TAX Disc before I can go collect.

I was meant to collect this past weekend but because of the above that didn't happen. It's going to delay the collection by a couple of weeks, its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I am an impatient person and this is my affordable dream car; I can't wait to get my hands on the keys!

Some info about the car:

2005 (05) plate

About 83k on the clock

GM Grey

Alezan Leather

GT Pack

Seemingly unmodified (ideal!)

Full nissan history (Every 6 months by the 1st owner due to the mileage being done)

Condition looks very very good outside and in, only issues I can see are the driver's seat needs some TLC (perhaps a retrim depending on how it cleans up) and I'll probably have to get 2 of the wheels refurbished due to some bubbling corrosion on the edge of the spokes. Aside from that theres a mark on the subwoofer panel, looks like a scuff of some kind, but this one is just me being picky I guess!

The seller made a demo video of all the car's toys to prove they work and everything appears in working order! The engine sounds fantastic, idles/revs nicely and sounds identical to a car I've test driven recently that had done a quater of the miles. He's asked me not to share the video since it has his own plate on the car which I can appreciate he wants to keep off the net!

No pictures as the AutoTrader ad dissapeared the same day I put the deposit down

Counting the days until collection! :bangin:

This time next week it'll be sat on my drive :yahoo:

And then I can't drive it for another 10 days since my insurance policy won't start until the 12th

I guess it's going to be the cleanest 350Z in the UK because cleaning it will the be only thing I can do to it until I'm insured

Oh they'll be plenty of pics thats for sure! :D

It's not 100% perfect (pretty close mind) - appears mechanically sound which is the main thing, the bodwork looks great and full nissan history upto the last service which was by an Audi specialist. only bad points are the Rays that need refurbing and the driver's seat needs some serious TLC, possible retrimming.

It looks as though it spent the 1st part of it's life as a repmobile oddly enough (due to the 9000 miles every 6 months).

Big positive is that Hereford once again has a Nissan dealership which means I don't have to book a day off work to get it serviced at a main dealer - excellent timing in my opinion!

This Tuesday is the day I finally get to pick it up, the delayed V5 doc coming through has reduced the number of "cleaning days" (read: days I can't drive it) from 10 to 5, still it will be agony every day; I've never been so excited over a car - ever! :teeth:

Bet you can't wait, not long now. Good news about the new Nissan dealer, where are they based? Will make things easier when I pop back to Hereford at the weekends.

Be an ideal opportunity to bring her along to the welsh weekend on 18/19th september viewtopic.php?f=19&t=38861 :) good chance to meet the gang and get to play on those lovely roads.

They're a part of the current Ford/Peugeot dealership up near the Audi & BMW garages (Centurion Way, I think). They are literally brand new - they don't actually have a service team for Nissan yet and they've only just started taking on stock, They've got a blue 370Z in at the moment which is beautiful but was way out of my price range unfortunately!

Would love to make the welsh weekend but its happening on the same weekend as my cousin's birthday so I'm off down to see him :drunk: Won't be doing much driving! :teeth:

I'm sure the next time would be no problem!
