Hi Guys. Right, basically Ive been looking around for a zed for quite a while now. I have managed to find one which I'm quite interested in and have managed to agree a price which the owner. The only thing that seems to be bugging me slightly is the mileage. It's a jap import, however the mileage is still clocking in km and reads 60000. I would look to get this converted back to miles, however 2 questions I'm hoping you could me out with here:

1/ Although the mileage in miles is approx 37000, would the fact the car reads 60000 put you off (I know it's kind of anal) - just to add, all of the MOT certs all show km

2/ how much and where could I possibly get this conversion done? (km - miles)

Many thanks

Hi Mate I have UK clocks with approx 33k miles and another with around 35k miles on if you end up wanting some. I thought it was part of the SVA test to convert the cars to MPH when they enter the country? The Miles / KM's wouldn't put me off if the car is in good order and running well. Maybe a way of getting the price down a little for you though?

Keep us updated

Once it has gone through SVA it counts up in miles (Not heard of them ever leaving it counting up in KM, not even sure that is possible...). You really want to look at the JUMVEA certificate. It will tell you how many KM the car had done when it was imported, assume that the rest are miles.

as said above the conversion is usually done at SVA stage - mine was fully converted so the existing KM's were converted to miles and then it clocked up in miles thereafter so just looks identical to a UK version. Other people have to add the original KM's to the miles it clocks up thereafter. I think mine cost me about £100 for the full conversion.
