IIRC the french league teams aren't allowed to spend beyond their means, so debts are minimalised - not at the £500 to £700 million level that Liverpool and Man U have. Time for a limit on debt levels, as well as a limit on the number of foreigners on the pitch at any one time - you can have 15 in your squad (so no restraint of trade arguments) but not play more than 5 at any time.
