Swooper Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Gents, I picked up a huge crack in my windscreen today, - it will need replacing. I will have to use Autoglass as that is the company that my insurers use. Is it a complex job? It looks like the plastic panels that run along the roof above the windows will have to come off to get the screen out. Has anyone watched this being done, and do they go back OK or will Autoglass need to source new fixings ets? I don't relish the thought of a fitter pulling bits off my car but I haven't got any choice. Any advice would be appreciated Cheers Quote
ATTAK Z Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I had mine done by Autoglass a couple of weeks ago ............ no issues whatsoever ..... great job ...... about 2 hours before you can drive the car but it's best to leave it for longer if you can Quote
AlexZ Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 As above, I've had a new screen aswell, simple job and they should bring a new top seal for the windscreen with them. Mine came with two, one with the screen and they ordered one just incase so I had the choice of a matt or shiny top rubber, MATT all the way man. Alexz Quote
bronzee Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 It looks like the plastic panels that run along the roof above the windows will have to come off to get the screen out. The A Pillar covers are only attached with a pop rivet system. So not that hard to get off, just a bit of care required. Quote
Cragus Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I have had mine done by the same company - no problems Quote
