Removed Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 it's not a matter of dullness, the fact that you can't grasp it reinforces your new nickname. people don't want their plates showing on your signature. As a gesture of respect towards other members, just comply and stop making yourself look like an idiot. Quote
Mathys Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The stock plenum, is it just steel or aluminium? I'm getting some quotes to get it chromed as well and they all charge a lot more for aluminium.... Thanks Quote

Thanks its aluminium alloy, I would be carefull about getting it chromed as you may have issues with it flaking on the alloy, also it has a rough sand cast finish that would have to be polished / ground away before the plating process could begin Quote
Baptist Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Chroming may distort it as well, polishing is a better bet. Quote

Removed Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 to chrome it, do you have to chrome the INSIDE of the plenum too?? you don't powdercoat the inside of the plenum, for example... do you polish the inside of the plenum ?? re. surface mating with the lower plenum Quote
Baptist Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 You need to heat it, to a high temperature, risk of distortion. Quote
