Rob_Quads Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I am just about to put a new system into my car but want to make sure my bose system is working fine so when i retro fit it to sell the car its all fine. I find that the Bose system is REALLY rear heavy. Even if you fade it all the way forward its still not great and that also looses a lot of the bass. With the balance set to even the front speakers are almost inaudiable. Is this normal? Quote
M13KYF Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I happy with mine but then I do like quite alot of bass. I suppose it's partly down to which type of music you listen to. I assume you have a sub woofer too. Quote
Rob_Quads Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 yup - not saying the bass is bad (although tis in comparison of whats going in lol). If you have it playing normally would you say a majority of the high end tweet/mids come from behind you. Quote
M13KYF Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 yes to an extent but not massively noticeable. Quote
Mathys Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 The bose subwoofer is really the worst I've ever heard. That would be on priority one for me to replace. Although I'd like to keep the system stock as much as possible.... Also, in my previous car I had a full Rockford Fosgate setup. I might be a bit spoiled.... Quote
350zdriver Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I thought my Bose sounded a bit cack (when it wasn't jumping!) so fiddled around with it. I thought it sounded quite dull in the front so all i did was adjusted the balance to the right by 1 click. It's bloomin miles better!! The quality has improved and if you stick your head in the centre of the car it still sound in the middle!! Hope this helps on yours. I like my Bose now Quote
Rob_Quads Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Bose is now in the loft Shame I am missing the subs at the moment but even with just the front end is soo much better. Much clearer too Quote
H5 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 If rear speakers are in my car they're only ever there as rear fill. I turned my bass up to +4 and then fade the unit forward by a couple of clicks. OK but not great. Definite improvement. Quote
