Aftermath of blown turbo.

My friend has a 530d m sport. his turbo blew and he had alot of smoke coming out the exhaust. the turbo has now been changed and the car is running like normal but there still smoke coming from the exhaust when the car is at a stand still.

my question is:

Is this normal and just oil slowly burning off in the exhaust?

Could it be the head gasket gone?

would a turbo failing damage the head gasket in any way?

any help would be much appreciated from you techies!!

More than likely there will still be excess oil in the Zorst and will soon burn off.

If there are still emissions in around 100 miles then further investigation will be required.

Finders crossed that this will not be required.

Cheers,

Alex.
