Propbably not the best topic for a website for cars and driving, but I'm really struggling to make a long island iced tea. I keep trying to make it at home, and fail every time. Wondered if anyone had any insider tips, as it costs a fortune to get it wrong!

I always mix equal measures of gin, triple sec, vodka, tequila and white rum. I then add either suger water or sweet and sour mix, and then a dash of coke. When I made it a bit ago, the taste of tequila was overpowering. So I took that out and then the taste of gin was overpowering. Eventually it'll just be coke

Is it more complicated than just mixing the ingredients?

One of my favs..............

My recipe is the five white spirits - equal measures - fresh lime juice and full fat coke.

Shake all ingerdients apart from coke over crushed ice, strain and then do equal mix & coke

So you do 50/50 with the alcohol and coke? Might be why mine was so overpowering. It's a great drink, was a freebie on the cruise I went on a couple of years ago. I was immune to alcohol for ages afterwards

Yup...... has to be fresh lime juice though and I do Cointreau instead of Triple Sec - more orange and more alcohol ;)

If you make yourself a mix using 35ml measures and divide between two long glasses I guarantee you - you will be very :teeth: by the time you're halfway down your second
