IanS16 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Right, My Managing Director purchased a domain for his other business (www.theflowerexchange.co.uk) in September of last year through lycos but apparently lycos webhosting is no more. If I do a WHOIS then it brings up his details and the following: Name: theflowerexchange.co.uk Server: no -> (DOES NOT EXIST) Status: Array Changed: 2009-09-23 Created: 2008-09-04 Expires: 2010-09-04 Referer: http://www.monimet.uk Registrar: Nominet UK Whois: co.uk.whois-servers.net Args: theflowerexchange.co.uk Port: 43 Type: domain All I need to do is access it and set if to forward to a different web address. Any ideas?? Quote

Chris`I Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I guess these are the guys you need to speak to http://www.nominet.org.uk/ They probably took ownership of it in the fall of Lycos? It appears their registered server has a typo. Googling it says that Facebook is registered with them so presume they are legit. Quote
Chesterfield Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Nominet are the controling body for domain names. Like a central administration who records who owns which domain and for how long etc etc. They should be able to sort out the problem for you - but I have a fear it wont be a five minute job. Quote

Didn't get round to it today but yeah I fear you are right about the 5 minute job thing. The simplest things never are... Again, thanks for your help guys Quote
