Any camera experts out there ????? screen broke

Hi All

 

Ive got a Pentax optio E40 camera. Unfortunately Ive knackered the screen up whilst snowboarding. Camera works fine but cant see what im taking a piccy of.

 

Its still boxed with reciept £100, but I can't claim on house or holiday insurance 'don't ask'.... plus Im too honest to buy another one and take this back in its place and say it was broke. (2 options already suggested).

 

I had a quote to fix it for £50, but I think I could prolly buy a new one for around that price now.

 

Bit gutted as hardly used the camera and I need one for when the baby arrives in Jan.....

 

Any help or suggestions ???

You should be able to buy a new screen from the interweb somewhere, and i dont recon it would be too hard too change.
