Choices, choices...

Hi all,

Just sorted out my finances today and am now awaiting new funds to be deposited into my account.

What do you think I'm going to do with £20K???

Test drove a sunset, GT with rays, alezan seats, plus sat nav and parking sensor at the weekend just gone.

Nice motor!

Anyway, it's on a 53 plate with 35,000 miles and it's up for £19995

The best they can get it down to is £19600 (but that does include taxing it for a year as well)

It's in great nick and they service it before they release it to you, but there are quite a few stone chips on the nose and one of the alloys is slightly kerbed.

Advice on how far I can push them would be good please.

The saleman claimed (typical line really) that the manager was taking the £500 profit out of the car that he was going to make by offering me the above deal - surely the margins aren't that small??!?!

Anyway, have seen 3 or 4 more that are in the price range I have and are of a spec I like so may have a look at those (but they aren't as fully loaded as the one I mention above) but the dealer has also offered me a pretty reasonable trade in on my Clio 172 Cup, which could be a good reason for going for the above deal.

It will take the pain in the arse out of trying to sell my current car...

HELP! Don't know what to do!!!

:welcome: Scon

It seems a tad expensive given its mileage but then you are paying for the convience of a trader with the px.

I would hope to get a 04 for that price. Keep looking and one will turn up. Don't be rushed into it and keep an eye out on the 'For Sale' section where some are already for sale.

hi there :welcome:

is that a Uk or JDM model? if it's a UK I think it's a fair deal imo, otherwise they can go lower I'd say. Also for the stonechips, ask them to sort them in the deal :)

On new cars, IIRC when i bought it £500 was actually the margin that dealers had
