Race Valeting Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 This morning I had this black Corsa VXR dropped off for a few days to correct the paintwork ready for Performance Vauxhall next weekend. So I had to shoot out and do my maintanance on a RR so didn't get home until 2:30 and then got cracking with this. KOSOVAN CAR WASH :doublesho:wall: Firstly heres the befores: be warned some severe overspray with tape lines.... Overspray anyone......... The wheels were firstly cleaned using g101 and a selection of brushes, tyres and arches also clean with G101. Next up the car was rinsed to remove any loose dirt, then a APC foam to remove any old protection this was left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed. This was followed by a wash with zaino an a z sponge panel at a time then dried, next up claying this was a major part of today work to try and remove the overspray 3hrs claying thw whole car and over an hour on just the bonnet. slowly cutting through the overspray: Then I started polishing the bonnet trying to find a good combo settled for a elite car care coolfoam finishing pad and 1 blob of menz ip and 3 blobs of menz ff, this seemed to be working a treat. some more pics of the defects first: And now for some final finished pics with the corsa wearing 2 coats of Zaino z2 pro topped with a z8 wipedown. The tyres and arches dressed using megs endurance, the engine bay and plastics dressed with 303 protectant, and windows cleaned and exhaust polished using 00 grade wire wool and megs nxt metal polish, wheels sealed with Zaino clear seal. Then the owner turned up as I was finishing dressing the plastics so not many afters but the owner is getting some pro pics taken so hopefullt get a few emailed over to me. My necks burnt to a crisp but I think the last 2 days have been worth it. You sitting down......... And after many hours love ,sweat and tears we have..... engine before: after: Can't wait to get the keys to the unit tomorrow, to stop all this burning 2 days work in total. Thanks for looking Paul Quote
H5 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Pretty darn impressive that What grade sandpaper did the previous owner use to dry the car?? Quote
Race Valeting Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 The Kosovan's new 3000 grit sponge after 80 cars and the same water.... Thanks Quote
Danny 350Z Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Pretty darn impressive that What grade sandpaper did the previous owner use to dry the car?? Ha ha Fair one! Awesome job though. Quote
Chesterfield Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Excellent work - I have a black car and boy does it show the swirls. Luckily I have nothing as bad as those, but its good to know that all can be fixed by a pro. Quote
Viper350Z Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Stunning work there I have a real soft spot for them little VXR's Quote
nixy Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 awesome! that's how black should look but rarely does! Quote
GIXXERUK Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 some hard graft has gone into those results i see they must be using the "no bucket method" to wash the car, just using puddles in the gravel to damp the sponge Quote
bronzee Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Nice work Paul. At least these people keep you in business. Quote
Pimm Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 For a 57 plate vxr that is shocking condition but what a result. I would love to get mine done everytime i see these threads but i have a few stone chips and feel these need to be touched in before a full detail can be done . Again the results are fantastic and i wish i had some knowledge on how to make my car look like this. Well done Quote
