From A to Zed Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Hi guys, After reading the guides on the forum I thought I would have a crack at this myself... I must admit to being touch nervous as I've never attempted anything like this before so I was really chuffed when it all went so smoothly. I highly recommend giving this go if you have the time and some decent tools Attached are some pictures of my DBA discs and Ferodo pads. Look at the state of the old discs, they looked fine on the outside but the inside was another story http://s484.photobucket.com/albums/rr20 ... 78/brakes/ And I know my arches my filthy!!!! Cheers, Matt Quote
IanS16 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Well done mate The inside of those disks are a state Quote
From A to Zed Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 Thanks everyone, appreciate the comments - Believe or not the brakes were still fine in that state... I was at Bedford on Friday for my first trackday and I was amazed how well they performed... Those 22mm bolts take some breaking don't they!!! Cheers Quote
From A to Zed Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 How many km did you have on those discs mate? Hi Fatalus, I am not the first owner of the car so I think they might be the original discs. My car has covered 53,000 miles which is about 85,000 km. Thanks, Matt Quote
Stew Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I get a lot of satisfaction from spannering although I often turn the air blue.... Looking good now! Quote
From A to Zed Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Cheers Stew. This was possibly the first job I managed without gashing my hands and swearing too much I really need some Swarfega though, my work colleagues are begining to wonder why my hands are black every Monday Quote
Zazur Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Looks like a good job and much needed judging from some of those pics Quote
