ZED FEST 06 9-10 Sept Blidworth

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, just popped across from the zclub to invite you to ZED FEST hope this is ok with you.

Thankz

ZED-FEST 06

Formerly known as Swapmeet ZED-FEST 06 will be held on Saturday and Sunday 9th & 10th September at the JG Dog Sanctuary, Warsop Lane, (B6020) Blidworth, Mansfield Notts. NG21 0PG

For those who do not know, the venue is a very secure almost level field of about 1.5 acres surrounded by a 6 ft high chain link fence with padlocked gate and no direct road access. Access is suitable for vans, caravans etc. It is regularly mowed and rolled and is more like a lawn, ok for modified/ lowered vehicles. This year we have the use of a large marquee. DJZ is providing suitable music during the event. A suggestion has been made that the musicians amongst us may like to do some impromptu jamming during the evening.

A BBQ will be available on Saturday night and if numbers are high enough I will arrange a hog roast. A cooked breakfast and lunch time BBQ for Sunday.

To carry on the vein of Swapmeet a free auto jumble will be available for those who have surplus parts to sell on.

Z related traders are more than welcome and a small charge will be made of £10 for a trade stand. (no restriction on size).

Show day will be Sunday and trophies awarded for the best cars in each marque and best in show.

This is being circulated to all Z related sites and you are all invited irrespective of whether or not you are Z club members. With your help this could be the biggest meeting of Z cars in the U.K. If sufficient clubs attend I will arrange a small inter club sports challenge such as tyre rolling, chuck the starter, car pull etc. Any ideas welcome. (not catching the javelin or heading the shot)!

There will be an entry fee of £2 per car for the whole or part weekend. A modest charge will be made for the food. Camping is free.

Toilet and washing facilities are available and are clean but basic (no showers).

There are B&B’s available (about 10 mins drive)

Scooby, dunno to be honest. I was trying to come up with somewhere else to organise, but with work and loads of other stuff, I've not had chance yet.

But if everyone else was up for it then, could sort one out...... I'll post up a seperate thread etc (to keep this one on topic).... :)

Hi chaps,

OK, I asked Derek about whether we have to register cars etc, and if we can all park together (club area).

Here's the response:-

Hi Mark,

thankz for the post. It will be good to see you all.

I should be there to welcome you as you come through the gate to the field. We like everyone to fill in a registration form and wear a name badge (if you have club name badges that's great. ) just so we know who's on site and who each other are when we talk. On the sunday we usually line the cars up around lunch time and the drivers all have a voting slip in order to vote for the car they think is best in each marque. There will be a trophy for the best.

There is plenty of space and if you want to have a club area that's fine. you can display banners flags etc. It's very informal. I am hoping to arrange some inter club sports which will be fun but not overtaxing .

A bbq will be on all day (or until food runs out) There will be a raffle (donations for prizes are always welcome) A limited supply of cold drinks will be available in the club shop and tea and coffee will be on all day.

There is an entry fee of £2 per car (this covers a charitable donation to the dog sanctuary) It is a pleasant venue if you bring the family or friends and you can view the dogs at visiting time. You don't have to come in a Z. Many of our members have cars in restoration and will attend in other vehicles.

We don't expect anyone to join the Z Club (although membership details will be available). If anyone has Z related parts to sell or a car for sale they can bring them along (no charge for private sales)

Traders can purchase a stand for £10

Our aim is to have a good weekend and to promote z ownership

Any urther queries please ask.

RegardZ

Derek

Sounds nice and relaxed. Might be good for us all to meet up just before etc, to go in together?

sounds good.

it looks like 3 of us will be travelling down from Manchester so first meeting point could be there

Yep, works for me. Will just have to sort out route etc. We could take the nice scenic route over the tops if we early....... some interesting roads at least and takes us down towards Chesterfield via the A623.

Then we could meet up with Tim and Bluffy if desired...... :D
