Race Valeting Vs Swirled Black Jaguar, Correction Detail + S

Race Valeting

Recommended Posts

This car has been booked in pretty recent, after going to view the car the other week for a inspection/quotation It was suggested to go for a full correction detail as the paintwork was looking very dull and with plenty of swirls and scratches.

On arrival yesterday this is what the car looked like.

Firstly job was to tackle the wheels with some bilberry and a selecion of my swissvax style brushes and a ez detail brush, some megs super de-greaser for the arches and some g101 for the tyres.

Half way through the wheels and it began to rain so out with the waterproofs, lucky I had a nice big stable to work in later :D

The wheels hadn't been cleaned properly since new and was taking a few attempts to get them up to standard, they also had 2 lots of tar & glue remover also.

Next up and the door/boot shuts were cleaned using my swissvax style brushes and some g101, the engine bay was also cleaned using some virasol and my brushes to then rinsed at low pressure.

The exterior was then given a pre-soak of warm citrus de-greaser to the lowers to helps break up some of the dirt and grime, this was left for a few mins then rinsed.

Next up for the 1st lot of foaming.

Nice and thick which was left for a 10 mins then rinsed, this was repeated again to make sure the majority was off before washing.

Next up 2bm wash using z sponge and dodo b2bm shampoo, the car was then sprayed with tardis onto the affected areas and left for a few mins before wiping and then re washing.

Today I opted for the sonus green clay.

A quick set of paint readings come in with healthy measurements of 130+ so ample.

As this was going to be a 2 stage polishing I opted for the elitecarcare orange cutting pad and some 3m fc+ for the cutting and the elitecarcare red finishing pad @ 3m ultrafina se for finishing down, this was working nicely but some deeper RIDS still remained.

Heres a few 50/50 shot:

Heres the door scuffs, these had to be wet sanded with 2500 grit followed up with 3000

Once all the polishing was finshed I packed up and called it a night for yesterday @ around 6pm.

Arrived back there this morning @ 9am and a quick wipedown with IPA and then cleansed with lime prime lite and she was ready for her coat of BOS, this was applied via a german applicator and left to cure for 30 mins before buffing in the meantime I got on with dressing the plastics with CG new look trim gel, polishing the grill using megs nxt metal polish and a mf.

The wax was then buffed off and time to start the interior, fully hoovered and then a wipedown of the leather with some mild g101 and then conditioned using sonus.

The plastics was then cleaned dressed using einzsett premium cockpit, finally the glass cleaned inside and out and then zaino tyre dressing applied and finally a quick spritz using some Z y m o l field glaze.

Now as the sun had come out I thought i'd move her out into the sun for some finished pics.

Forgot to take pics of the engine bay, it was all dressed using rubber/plastic dressing and the paintwork polished.

Total time taken for Correction/interior/engine was 15 hrs.

Owner delighted and now wants regular maintenance done.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome as usual.
