garypjones Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Hi, Just started having a problem that if i try to give the Z a bit of welly, the revs shoot up and then start to drop before the power seems to kick in. If i accelerate gently i don't have as much of a problem - am i looking at the early stages of the clutch going? Help please Quote
garypjones Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 No, everything else feels ok. Just the revs go up before they seem to transfer the power and at that point the revs drop back again Quote
garypjones Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Damn, thought so. So what's the likely damage in the pocket? Quote
GIXXERUK Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Damn, thought so. So what's the likely damage in the pocket? where are you from gary ? bigphil @esr is prob the best place if your near nissan is def no go Quote
Chris`I Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Do a search, it depends what you want done. Many go for uprated cluctches and lightened flywheels while they are at it as it doesnt work out much more and gives a more responsive drive. Bigphil is usually a good contender for getting these from Quote

garypjones Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Based in Bishops Stortford, East Herts. Recently had all discs and pads replaced and used a "performance" dealer to replace these as £400 cheaper than the local Nissan dealer (Glyn Hopkin) so will be steering clear of them, especially as they also tried to shaft me for a new starter moter that i had to get done privately as they wanted !!! pounds to collect the car (which they couldn't arrange for a couple of days) and then a stupid quote for parts and labour!! Stew Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Big phil is very competitive but most jap specialists wouldn't rob you blind! Time to ugrade I say! Quote
