ColinS Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Can anyone help with finding silenced de-cat pipes for my HR? Quote
Kwame@z1 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Is this what you are looking for Colin? http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=35 ... rodid=3030 Quote
Pingu2 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 hmm those will hardly be silenced? do you mean high-flow cats? Quote
Chris`I Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Dont think I've ever heard of silenced de-cats Hi-flow cats will be your best bet mate if you're not going FI. De-cats will loose you back pressure and low down torque. Hi-flow will keep some back pressure and also be MOTable Quote
ColinS Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Is this what you are looking for Colin? http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=35 ... rodid=3030 Kwame, was looking for resonated ones buddy. Pingu2 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 well they are hardly silenced either ! Quote
ColinS Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 Pingu, they are actually. Takes most if not all of the rasp away compaired to standard pipes. Quote
Stew Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 You not concerned about losing torque with these? Quote
Adam@Z1auto.com Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 resonated quite honestly are a waste (I have them in my car!) - no quieter than std test pipes torque loss - toss that theory out the window. If you want to increase the flow but not substantially increase overall volume, high flow cats are the way to go. Quote
ColinS Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 I just don't want a rasp which full test pipes give you. Quote
Adam@Z1auto.com Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 rasp is as much a function of the catback you use TBH if you want to avoid rasp altogether, then you must stick to certain exhausts. At the same time, if you remove the stock cats, you must be willing to trade a bit of rasp for flow, it's just how it is Quote
