neodc Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Hi Guys, my friend Jim came round on Sat to valet my car and my mates 172, here is his report thing. This got posted on Detailing World as well, everyone thought my exausts were a bit poo, saying they didnt look right, theres one shot of them, and its the 5zigen pro racer, what do you think. Today’s task was to tidy up the 350Z, and turnaround the Clio 172. I knew I had my work cut out, and probably being a bit optimistic but hell, who doesn’t like a challenge. Arriving an hour early I got on the case straight away.. The forecast said rain, yet through till lunch it was just windy and cold!! (very overcast however..) Nissan 350Z Products used. (Start @ 9.30am) • SuperSnowFoam • Megs WB / SV Wheel Brush / EZ Detail Brush • G101 / SuperDegreaser • Sonus Green Clay / Megs LastTouch • Tardis • CG New Look Trim Gel • Megs Endurance Gel • CG Wheel Guard • AG SRP • Jeffs Werkstat AIO Prime • Jeffs Werkstat Trigger Pictures & Process. Starting with the wheels.. - Calipers cleaned with a fine detailing brush and G101 - Tyres scrubbed with stiff brush and Megs APC - Megs WB worked with SV Wheel Brush - EZ Detail to get in on the inner rims - Cotton Wool buds to reach smaller/tight areas - Tardis where applicable Engine bay.. - Underside sprayed with 3:1 mix of G101, worked with MF cloth - Other areas in bay worked with detailing brushes/G101 - Plastics/covers/hoses dressed with CG New Look Trim Gel No after photos I’m afraid. Wash stage.. - Rinse down vehicle - SSF through the AB Lance & Karcher – additional G101 & SuperDegreaser under arches - Once foamed, work detail areas. (IE, Petrol filler housing, window jams, panel edges, badges etc) - Rinse - TBM with Ultimit and Maxi Suds Bit close on this one me thinks! Brew. Clayed with Sonus Green and LastTouch as lube: Rinsing as I go.. Rewashed > Rinsed > Dried At this point the Cotton Wool buds came out again to tidy up some difficult areas.. Now I did say it was windy, I had to make several runs out to the road to prevent products/crates and clothes blowing away, but I wasn’t expecting this!! GAH! Car polished with MF applicator pad & AIO Prime. Acrylic Trigger followed shortly after with several sprites of GLOS. Tyres dressed. Wheels protected. Leather fed. Exhausts polished. Interior hoover/wipe clean. 350Z finished @ 1:20pm. Food: “NEXT!†Quote
Ian Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Exhausts look fine, would look better with a diffuser but nothing wrong with it the way they are Quote
M350ZB Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Cracking pics buddy, look , how much if you dont mind me asking ? Quote
neodc Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 i got the jobs done at mates rates, so what it cost me wouldnt matter too much, all i can say is after 12hours of work, its awesome. There were major cracks on my leather, after about 10 mins of work, differnt creams and brushes, mostly gone ! the dashboard has been treated as well, looks like factory, i wouldnt mind a new dashboard tho, out of a 07 or 08 model as they are really nice. his normal rates are 120 to 150 i think, that would be a full day, but the car is generally brought to him.
