Adriank Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Sorry to post this its probably been asked before, but im getting the oil / filter done, what oil do people use in their cars? I need to buy the oil tommorow, so is nissan best bet or any other places i can buy it? How much does it use 5 litres enough? Thanks in advance Adrian Quote
nixy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I use mobil 1 supersyn fully synthetic - I think its 5w-30 Quote
Beavis Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I I think its 5w-30 Correct Though i use Amsoil Quote
sunset350z Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I get my oil and filter changed regularly by kwik fit. I was charged £39.99 for Mobil 1 5w 30 fully synthetic!! See, they do have their uses sometimes. Why get your hands dirty, dispose of it properly, and pay more for the oil and filter from halfords etc. You know it makes sense Quote
martinmac Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Opie trade on here and are pretty good www.opieoils.co.uk/ Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I I think its 5w-30 Correct Though i use Amsoil Silkolene PRO S 5W-40 FROM OPIEOILS fast delivery i changed mine today, i was tempted to try a different filter but stayed with an oem one in the end hole in the engine undertray to access the drain bolt and filter Quote
Adriank Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 i used to use the silkolene pro S from oilman on my old Integra, but the guy i get my servicing done with uses castrol edge 10-60 in everything, as its what his race cars run. Should i avoid that oilin the 350, or would it be ok still? I'm going to have a look round locally and see what i can find in 5-30, but most are in 4l tubs so going to have to get a 4ltr and a 1ltr :-( Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Do you have any idea on oil temps? The Castrol RS is now known as the Castrol Edge Sport here http//www.opieoils.co.uk To be honest you can do much better, take a look at the ester based oils of the Silkolene Pro S and the Motul 300v. These are proper performance synthetics. Cheers Guy. FROM OPIE ......... Quote
