Film/slide scanner

I remember good drum scanners costing 10 to 20k back in the day.

Scanners are a lot cheaper now though. I replaced my £2000 one with a cheapy epson one.

It depends on what quality you are after. If you want to just blow them up to 7x5 photo sized prints. I'm sure it will give ok results.

Bought that one above for my dad for xmas. To be honest, it's ok but nothing special. Main thing is the speed - it's sloooow, and if you have a lot of slides to get through you'll probably throw the thing out of the window.

I actually don't think it's seen the light of day since some initial xmas day testing.

Just my two cents worth :)

So to sum up - resolution is ok but nothing special and it's too slow. In other words I'd be better spending a bit more on a Minolta or a Nikon, or get them done for me (I have quite a lot!)

As ever, advice appreciated. Thanks guys.
