Help! Fuel light faulty

My zed has been playing up, fuel light and gauge drops when I know petrol is in the tank. One week can drop to show empty the next day shows nearly full. 

I've been quoted £217 for level sensor or fuel pump £223.0 it's a 2007 nismo gt. 

Any ideas.

Preowned fully working sensors (both sides) are in stock.

It won't be the fuel pump.

Try cleaning both the sensors as this sometimes works.

Known issue, you need to get the float sensors out of each tank side and give the contacts a good clean and reassemble, it's a bit of a pain I did mine years ago and it's better but it's never as good as it should be.

 

There's a guide somewhere I tried to find it but failed  takes a few hours but it's the same procedure as replacing them except you just clean them (obviously!)
