Handbrake light?

When braking qiute sharp the handbrake light comes on,any ideas?

Just thinking on, it only had its p3 a few months ago so shouldn't that have been checked?

hmm i would have thought a fluids check would be on there tbh

 

as the pads wear the pistons travel out lowering the fluid level, how many miles have you done since ?

low fluid means low pads...unless you have a leak someplace (not good!), get this looked at asap

I think brake fluid change is part of a P3 so the fluid shouldnt be low. Either low pads as Adam says or they didnt do something right on the service

I recently had a P2 at a main dealer which should have included power steering fluid level check, but was overlooked

They changed my brake fluid on my P2

Its only done 1k since the service, Bec used the car today so i'm waiting for her to come home so i can check it out.

Mmm pads are fine and fluid is at max

Mabe the handbrake needs tightening as i do have to leave it in gear if its on a hill.

That wont be it mate, take the lid off the brake fluid and make sure the float is working ok, check the wires on the top, wiggle the handbrake and watch the light to check for a lose connection, other than that do your pads have wires coming from them (wear indicators) check these wires

No electronic pad wear indicator on the 350Z, only tabs on the pads which will screech on the disc.

this light should only illuminate for low brake fluid and the handbrake

NOT for low brake pads ! (as phil says and just checked the manual)

so it likely to be a sticky float or a poor connection/ sticky switch at the handbrake lever
