Now, the cooling fans...

So it's been 3 weeks since buying the 350z and it's not been the best experience so far. Expectations were a little high as it's was supposed to be an upgrade from my MGTF, but I find myself missing it, especially in this weather.

The on going frustration with the roof not working had me contacting 4 different, recommended, hood specialist who all couldn't help. I've refurbished the 5th bow motor with no improvement, so I've given up and booked it in with Nissan. I really hope they can work it out without bankrupting me.

And now a new issue, the cooling fan motors have packed in. Having checked the obvious I've concluded the fan motors need to be changed. Not a difficult job apparently but that's assuming you're handy with a spanner. I am not. I've pinged Abbey Motorsports as they are well regarded and only an hour from me. So hopefully I can get those looked at before it overheats so much the head gasket goes.

Is there anyone who has taken these out who can give me a few pointers? I understand I can refurb the motors but can't work out how to take the actual motors out. A few posts I've read suggest it's easy to do but none of those posts have pictures, or a lot of detail. Both of which I would find useful.

I'm sure once the niggles have been sorted I'll be so much happier but until then....

It's gonna get better, isn't it?

You have to remove the complete fan shroud incorporating the fans and motors.

The unit comes out, up the way and is only held on with 2 bolts at the top.

Remove the top hose and you may have to loosen off the PAS pipe at the pump to get a bit wiggle room.

You will have to drop the under tray to get access to the wiring block connectors.

A very easy job and the only issue you may have is that the under tray bolts may be seized
