Vents, Wires and Weather...

Ok random out the blue curiosity here. I'm not technically minded so it may be silly but why are a lot of sport/supercars.vents open and have wires directly inside exposed...

 

Example.below.a 570GT... if it rains heavy it will surely pour into the vent and be all over that wiring box (only taped up to a.certain amount)... I'm gonna guess its waterproof to an extent but looks...dodgy lol

I was paranoid about this water issue until someone stated the obvious. Even on a car with a proper bonnet water still gets in the engine bay if it's raining or there is surface water about so it's pretty normal.

Good point... :lol: I just thought surely they would hide wires kicking about where water can get to them?
