fitting bumper air duct. any tips before i cut my bumper?

planning to fit a air duct into my front bumper, any advise or tips before i go cutting into my bumper from anyone whos done this?

Mask the area to be cut with masking tape then mark up on top of the tape, this helps when cutting

Yes cut too small and you can always trim, cut too large and it's buggered! I did mine with a simple Stanley knife if that helps

Are you rivetting it?

 

I bonded mine with sikaflex after having the rivet holds filled before painting - but as the duct didnt quite match the profile of the bumper i had to lean my weight on it solid for over an hour until it set.

In that case... get yourself setup with a stool, a radio, and a drink and you'll be set.
