Nav audio

I've been searching everywhere to no avail. I've fitted an aftermarket hu and lost the navigation audio. I've read lots about a work around by wiring in a speaker. Anyone done this, any guides? Is it as simple as adding a speaker; Surely the audio used the Bose radio to amplify sound? Which are the wires I need?

It is as simple but you will also need to get a signal from the nav to your 'telephone mute' on the HU to temporarily mute it so you can hear the speaker
