oh dear.... my handbrake broke :/

well I pulled up at home and I live on a bit of a slope so I have to make sure the handbrake is definitely on, except this time it almost came off in my hand :/ now I've taken the centre console out and the bar that the handbrake pivots on, has broken at the end where it's flared anyone else had this before?
