nissanman312 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I know you can take a reading from the sandwich plate. but did I see there was somwhere you can tap into the block for a more accurate reading? Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Can you not just T into the std oil pressure take off point, or at the switch? Quote
nissanman312 Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 What I want to do is run it into the ecu Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Ahh I missed the ECU Tec in your sig, so I presume its got an analog input trigger for fail safes, so you can calibrate the input for a pressure sensor? Quote
nissanman312 Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Yeah that's the plan Litchfield do the same with fuel pressure Aswell with a sensor on the fuel rail. So having them both put on if I can Quote
Mark@Abbey m/s Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Easy job. What input you going to use? Let me know what you want to do. Quote
nissanman312 Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Easy job. What input you going to use? Let me know what you want to do. No idea mark Ian is doing some work on my car soon so ask him to do this while it's there I just didn't know where the best place to take the pressure from was and what was needed to do it I guess he will. I just wanted to learn it Aswell Quote
nissanman312 Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Out of interest what presures should I be seeing from a healthy engine When cold and hot Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Not sure if the HR is much different, but the DE should see 14 psi at idle, and 43psi at 2,000 rpm, cold pressure will depend on what the pressure relief valve is set to, I wouldn't expect the HR to be much different, most modern engines run similar oil pressures these days.
