Vicki350 Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Hi! I've been having a few problems with my handbrake not holding very well even when I pull it up really high. I've heard it can be adjusted but can't find where in the car to adjust it! A few places have suggested the sliding compartment next to the drivers seat having an adjustment nut but I couldn't find one! My car is a 2006 GT roadster if that helps? Any suggestions?! Azure350z Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 In the compartment with the sliding lid there is a little felt lined piece to the left that's is meant to be used ot hold a couple of coins, if you left this up (scre driver under it and it pops out), you'll then be able to see the nut that you can use to slacken or tighten the handbrake cable. I tried putting a screw driver down there to get the felt lined bit out but gave up as I didn't want to break anything! mdunbar Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 My zed came with this issue. I put it down to age. When I got the car serviced mechanic adjusted handbrake shoes and then checked cable.
