Vicki350 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hi! I've been having a few problems with my handbrake not holding very well even when I pull it up really high. I've heard it can be adjusted but can't find where in the car to adjust it! A few places have suggested the sliding compartment next to the drivers seat having an adjustment nut but I couldn't find one! My car is a 2006 GT roadster if that helps? Any suggestions?! Azure350z Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 In the compartment with the sliding lid there is a little felt lined piece to the left that's is meant to be used ot hold a couple of coins, if you left this up (scre driver under it and it pops out), you'll then be able to see the nut that you can use to slacken or tighten the handbrake cable. As Alex says, there is also handbrake adjustment for each brake on the rear disc/durm. Hope that helps. Quote

brillomaster Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 i don't think the necessary adjustment is at the cable, it needs to be adjusted at the handbrake shoes. 350z handbrakes are pretty dire, if you're parking on any kind of slope best leave it in gear as well. 1 Quote

mdunbar Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 My zed came with this issue. I put it down to age. When I got the car serviced mechanic adjusted handbrake shoes and then checked cable. It is now as stiff as me watching that lass on Countdown 2 1 Quote
