Grounding kits!! do you actually notice any difference???

was thinking of gettin one just to make engine bay look a little smarter as iv got lots going on in there to smaretn it up so even if they dint do much would look good!!! any1 got any prices??? need to be in orange to!!!

they do different colours, spills does them but only in silver, i havent got one and have heard mixed reactions, most people say it makes the car feel smoother, less jerky, i suppose the effect depends on how poorly earthed components are to begin with, which will vary

Made my own set of cables using high quality multi-strand 25mm copper cables and high quality cable lugs. Noticed no diffference but i think that the earth connection from the battery to the chasis is very poor, so worth doing for this alone.

It smoothed out my idle. Definately. Changed the plenum and it kind of went back though as I guess the grounding isn't as good.

Mine just seemed smoother at lower revs and pull away. Also nice and smooth pootling in the Slough traffic on a morning! Other than that no difference at all.

Spill's kit is really neat, but if I was 100% honest then I don't think there was a noticeable difference on my MY04. When you look at how crap some of the OEM cables are though it's a surprise the electrics work at all

no difference whatsoever on mine, but they look OK so they are stopping on (besides I cant be arsed to remove them now )

If you want a bit of extra grunt why not look for a plenum spacer

yeah thought about one off those dint know wether it made that much difference!!!

i've read the plenum is the only thing that makes any difference, it gives extra low down/mid range torque

 

iirc £185 for a 5/16 th and not worth going for the larger spacer - seen in the states they fit 1/2" but have been told the strut bar wont fit and you cant feel the difference

Ive just fitted a Spills kit this week on my Zed (57plate 600miles). We live on the end of a small down hill road and from cold its not a very smooth drive normally...the zed wants to go too fast for the park cars and roaming cats.

 

I did notice a smoother ride since fitting the kit and especially when the engine is cold - cheap mod too.
